I’ve had a fair share of Italian’s in my time but was more than pleasantly surprised by the suggestion of Salvi’s Cucina on John Dalton Street the other day. I genuinely felt like we had just stepped off the streets of Manchester and been transported to a secret little eaterie in Naples. Continue reading

Brunch – Tea Hive, Chorlton
It’s always a pleasure to pop into Chorlton on a bright Sunday morning and spend a few lazy hours sat outside Tea Hive watching the world go by. Continue reading
Aldi Wagyu Beef Steak – Review
I’d read a lot of articles this week about Aldi selling Wagyu beef, the most expensive steak in the world, I’m lead to believe, for the bargain price of £7.29! I only live 2 minutes away from an Aldi, and knowing that I would never be able to afford a Wagyu beef steak in a restaurant (£90 for the same size steak in upmarket places), I decided to have a go at cooking some myself. Continue reading
Chalk Bar & Grill Re-launch – Didsbury
Last Thursday evening I went to Didsbury. I haven’t been to Didsbury for quite a few years and whilst it’s always been a hub for bars and pubs that I frequented in my student days, I always felt it was missing a really good cocktail bar.
Enter Chalk Bar & Grill – recently refurbished and now being run by MAD Ltd, the team behind several other Manchester drinking establishments such as Rosylee, Tusk, Walrus, The Fitzgerald and Hula.
We were lucky enough to be invited along to their re-launch party so sampled some delicious cocktails, nibbles and delightful surroundings. Continue reading
Beef and Pudding 2nd Birthday Brunch Bash
Last week I had the pleasure of being invited along to Beef and Pudding‘s 2nd Birthday Brunch Bash in Manchester city centre. I’d always wanted to try Beef and Pudding since it’s launch as I used to work very close by, but had never got round to it. So when they got in touch to say they were having a Birthday brunch and celebrating the launch of their Bloody Mary buffet, it seemed like the perfect time to finally get acquainted. Continue reading
Knowsley Safari Park
I’m always on the look out for things to do in and around Manchester that doesn’t necessarily involve food and drink. And it’s always nice to get out of the city from time to time and experience a bit of green grass and fresh air.
So when my friends Kate and Stu suggested a day trip to Knowsley Safari Park this weekend, I gave a hell to the yes. Continue reading
Doring Sushi Bar – Chorlton
I’m a big fan of sushi – so when I heard on the Chorlton grapevine that a new Japenese Sushi Bar had opened just up the road, I was over there before you could say sashimi. Unfortunately on my 1st visit, I forgot my camera. But my 2nd visit was very well documented Continue reading
Trapdoor Comedy Club at The Old Monkey
Last Wednesday evening, after a long day at work, I made my way over to The Old Monkey on Portland Street for an evening of superb comedy provided by Trapdoor Comedy Club. Continue reading
Manchester Christmas Markets 2015
One of the best things about spending the run up to Christmas in Manchester is being able to visit the famous Christmas markets, which are dotted all about the city centre. Which is exactly what a few of us did the other evening when we popped along to Albert Square by the town hall. Continue reading
Manchester & Cheshire Dogs’ Home 2016 Calender #GIVEADOGACHANCE
Early one Saturday morning in late September, me and my best buddy Mouse made our way to the beautiful Tatton Park in Cheshire with the help of the awesome Alex and Chris. We drove down from Manchester in the glorious sunshine, getting ready for Mouse to take part in the Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home 2016 Calender. Continue reading
